Last week, we alerted you that individuals outside our organisation contacted some of our members to obtain their credit card information, for alleged discounted hotel rates in relation to the Prague conference.
Thanks to the prompt reaction and your awareness, no damage has been caused.
Meanwhile, we have taken immediate measures to ensure that your personal information is protected.
We can confirm that this is the case. In particular, all information held by EELA or the conference organiser concerning your payments have remained secure at all times. Against our initial suspicion, the fraud attempt was based only on the publicly available participants list and the website was not hacked.
Given the exceptional circumstances, the early bird registration deadline is extended up to 20 February 2016.
