The route leads through the heart of old Oslo, following Karl Johans gate past the Stortinget (Norwegian Parliament), the National Theatre, and the University of Oslo together with the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights. 
The walk continues to the Royal Palace and its surrounding park before moving on to Oslo City Hall, known for its distinctive architecture and richly decorated halls.
