THE GOLDEN CIRCLE
There are few adventures as well known as the Golden Circle in Iceland, this day is already out of this world, then by adding adrenaline inducing activities to the nature sight seeing – this is a day to remember.
HIGHLIGHTS
Thingvellir national park: The point on Earth’s surface where the North Atlantic ridge splits the two geological continents of North America and Eurasia. Þingvellir is one of UNESCO World Heritage sites and throughout the centuries, some of the most significant events in Iceland’s history have taken place there. It’s the oldest surviving parliament in the world. For most Icelanders, this is the country’s most sacred place. But first and foremost Þingvellir National Park is know as one of the most beautiful areas in Iceland.
Geysir: probably the world’s most famous hot spring. One of the greatest natural attractions of Iceland, called great Geysir, which erupts at regular intervals every 10 minutes or so, and its white column of boiling water can reach as high as 20-30 meters.
Golden waterfalls: falls 32 meters in two stages, with water coming from the glacial river Hvítá, which has its source underneath the glacier Langjökull, and flows 133 kilometers into the Atlantic Ocean.
FRIÐHEIMAR GREENHOUSE
Friðheimar is very much a family affair, a
greenhouse run by a family, harvesting the geothermal energy in the area to grow tomatoes and cucumbers among other things.
They will welcome you to their greenhouse, where you will learn little bit what it takes to grown vegetables in rural part of Iceland in winter and then sit down and enjoy a really nice lunch, surrounded by thousands of tomatoes’ plants. Something you don’t do every day.
Another thing worth mentioning is they have a killer Bloody Mary and even their own Tomato Beer!

SUPERJEEPS
To get to todays activties, we will use the unique icelandic superjeeps.
There are superjeeps and monster trucks in this world. But few are like the one’s you will find in Iceland. Super jeeps with luxury leather interior and leather seats are renovated in Iceland.
On average the tires size is around 46 inches but with built in step, they are easy to enter and are truly a unique experience.
THE VALLEY OF THOR
From the hotel we make our way to the South Coast of Iceland where we will explore one of the most beautiful valley in Iceland, the Valley of Thor.
Out mission today is to try our motor skills in buggy cars in the Valley.
THE SOUTH COAST
The drive is around 2 to 2.5 hours long to the Valley.
The South Coast offers an array of natural wonders that draw thousands of visitors each day.
The whole area is geologically very young, formed during the last Ice Age by the lava flows from numerous volcanoes in the area. The lowlands are surrounded by volcanically active mountains, notably Eyjafjallajökull and Hekla.
THE WONDERS OF THE SOUTH COAST OF ICELAND
When driving the South Coast route from Reykjavík city, the first major features are the two great waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. These falls which sit beneath the notorious subglacial volcano, Eyjafjallajökull.
On clear days, the Westman Islands can be seen across the ocean from these beautiful cascades. Less than a kilometre from Seljalandsfoss is the hidden gem of Gljúfrabúi waterfall. A little further down the route is the glacier Mýrdalsjökull glacier, which covers one of Iceland’s most explosive volcanoes, Katla.
This landscape has also been shaped by volcanic eruptions, although these were much more recent. Vast expanses of the black sand stretch from the Highlands to the sea, part of several glacial outwash plains that flood during a volcanic eruption.
LAVA GRILL
It’s reassuring to know that comfort food, a refreshing drink at the bar, and the company of fellow travelers will be waiting when you return from exploring in Þórsmörk.
The Lava Grill will welcome the group with a delicious lunch buffet where the group can get warmed up and refreshed for the rest of the day.
BUGGY TOUR EXPERIENCE
After a hardy lunch we will have the buggy cars waiting for us to take us on our next adventure.
Each tour includes river crossing, driving on a bumpy road, sometimes dust promising stunning views and a lifetime experience.
Iceland is the perfect playground for Buggy tours. With acres of wild terrain, open fields, and remarkable landscapes, “The Land of Ice and Fire” is an adventure enthusiast’s dream!
