Employee activism and the new world of labour relations
%22Employee activism%22 is what happens when employees speak up with concerns about their employer’s approach to subjects that are political, social and environmental. Often driven by younger workers, it takes place outside the traditional engagement with trade unions and employee representative bodies. It is on the rise. The session will look at what is driving this new phenomenon and at the range of possible responses. Should employers open a separate dialogue with employees on these subjects or try to confine them to more traditional forms of engagement and labour relations?
