Effie Mitsopoulou
Effie has been advising employers for more than 30 years on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, including data privacy related issues. She has handled a wide spectrum of complex employment matters, including business restructurings, cross-border transactions, redundancy plans, termination of employment and post-employment restrictions, executives’ agreements and separation arrangements, due diligence reports, independent contractors’ issues, new forms of employment etc.
She has also advised many leading multinationals on privacy related matters, whistleblowing schemes and monitoring issues, focusing on employees’ personal data.
Effie is the founding partner of lawspace, a boutique law firm based in Athens.
Prior to founding lawspace, Effie was a partner and Head of the Employment law practice at Kyriakides Georgopoulos Law Firm in Athens.
Ranked several times as a highly recommended Leading Lawyer in employment law by Chambers Europe and Legal 500, she is a member of the International Bar Association, the European Employment Lawyers’ Association (EELA) and the Editorial Board of the EELC Review (European Employment Law Cases).
Effie is a graduate of the University of Aix- Marseille (Maîtrise en Droit International 1982), King’s College, University of London, (LLM 1983) and was admitted to the Athens Bar Association in 1986.
