Emily Martin is a Director at Lloyds Banking Group (LBG), and is the lead on the Infrastructure, Energy and Industrials portfolio from an ESG Finance perspective. A large part of Emily’s role is looking at greening the debt that LBG finance to incentivise their clients to make the right choices, whether that is via green loans such as Use of Proceeds methodology (i.e. ring fenced lending to a specific green project) or Sustainability linked lending, where KPI’s are embedded into debt facilities, and if these are metrics are hit then discounted lending is applied. Prior to joining the ESG & Sustainability team Finance team at the start of 2021, Emily spent 16 years in Energy Derivative Sales where she specialised in structuring energy risk management solutions for a diverse range of energy clients, including upstream oil and gas through to manufacturing and transport clients. Emily is very passionate about supporting the hard to abate sectors in their decarbonising pathways and particularly in light of the technological, political and regulatory challenges that these clients face in their transition to net zero.
